Hair ornaments reimagined | Crafted by hand in Berlin

The Berlin design workshop Clinq has taken on this age-old subject. Inspired by origami, fabric patterns, and construction techniques, the clips are folded from a single piece and require no rivets or screws. Thanks to the spring steel’s elasticity, they can be opened with gentle pressure, and pressing again reverses the material’s deformation, allowing the clip to close.
With custom-made tools, the pieces are handcrafted in Berlin, and the surface is polished to a high shine using grinding pastes and powders. The gilded versions receive a coating of 24-carat gold at 2 μm thickness beforehand.
The minimalist, geometric shapes are both subtle and striking. They can not only secure and highlight hairstyles but also serve as a money clip or brooch, making a charming impression.
