Some of the Bauhaus designs are handcrafted in the same way as the original, such as the silver teapot by Marianne Brandt, which is still made in a silversmith's workshop today.
Other objects are made using modern manufacturing methods, including the Bauhaus ashtray from 1926. Designed at a time when Bauhaus students were working on forms for industrial production, the prototype was made by hand on a press. Today, the ashtray is made industrially using a deep-drawing process.
