Alma Siedhoff-Buscher / Large Shipbuilding Game

Alma Siedhoff-Buscher developed a series of children's toys, of which the shipbuilding game is probably her best known and is still being produced today. Her goal was to encourage children to play freely with it. The colorful building blocks can be assembled into a sailing ship as well as animals or abstract beings. However, the biggest challenge for the little ones was probably to put the game pieces back in the correct order in the narrow box afterwards. The originally 39-piece Large Shipbuilding Game clearly shows today that it has passed through many children's hands over the years and has been actively used – just as Buscher would have wished for her children's toy. The shipbuilding game is manufactured for us under license from the Bauhaus-Archiv GmbH by the company NAEF in Switzerland. Discover now
