Designer: sori yanagi, 1954

Japanese design of the 1950s - a timelessly beautiful classic. This stool made of polypropylene is the first seating furniture entirely made of plastic and serially produced without the use of fiberglass. It owes its name "Elephant" stool to the elegantly flowing shapes and the wide legs. The lightweight is weatherproof, compact, and space-savingly stackable.
Sori Yanagi, founder of the Yanagi Industrial Design Institute in Tokyo, combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with industrial design, modern materials, and manufacturing techniques.
