Loud, colorful, and cheerful are the small table sculptures of the grandmaster of Italian design Ettore Sottsass. Cylinders, discs, spheres – stacked in contrasting colors, they become solid pepper mills. Actually, they are just basic shapes with familiar mechanics. But the arrangement and coloring challenge: 'play with me' seems to be their message. Unusual and thought-provoking in the 1980s, they are now classics again.
