Hair accessories reinterpreted - the Berlin design forge Clinq has taken on this ancient theme. Inspired by origami, fabric patterns, and construction techniques, the clips are folded from a single piece and come without rivets or screws. Due to the elasticity of spring steel, they can be opened with light pressure, and by pressing again, the deformation of the material can be undone and the clip closes.
With custom-made tools, the jewelry pieces are handcrafted in Berlin, and the surface is polished to a high gloss using grinding pastes and powders. The gold-plated versions are first coated with 24-carat gold at 2 μm.
The minimalist, geometric shapes are subtle and striking at the same time. They can not only fix and accentuate hairstyles, but also make a stylish figure as a money clip or brooch.
