The Ulm stool is a versatile piece of furniture made from untreated spruce wood, which can be used as a seat, table, tray, or storage.

Designed in 1954 by Max Bill and Hans Gugelot for the HfG Ulm, it impresses with its sturdy finger jointing and beech wood stabilizers. Originally, it helped students carry books.

In 1962, this was further developed into the drawer stool.
