Designer: Max Bill, 1956

'made in Germany'

In 1956, Max Bill designed two wall clocks for the Junghans company. They reflect Max Bill's philosophy of building usable objects with the most central functionality possible. One clock face, for example, contains delicate lines, with the hour markers clearly segmenting the dial. A quick glance is enough.
The clock face with numbers is divided by the hour markers, which were also designed by Max Bill. This doesn't look spectacular, and it's not meant to be. The understated graphic design of the clocks seems to disappear into the wall in simple beauty. The wall clocks with the number face and the line face are available in 22 cm and 30 cm diameters.
