Classic design, contemporary inner workings – thanks to the quartz movement, it does not need to be wound daily. Max Bill designed the distinctive simple dial, unadorned and easy to read. Its graphic design is characterized by clarity and well-balanced proportions. The unmistakably curved glass, which to this day can only be made from plastic, is relatively scratch-resistant.
Max Bill designed the watch in 1962 for the then common hand-wound movement; for a long time, there were four models. Variations of the old design have been offered by the manufacturer for several years under the name "Max Bill by Junghans." Thus, the watch is now also available in several sizes with a quartz movement, with an automatic movement, or as a chronoscope. Watch dials and straps are also regularly varied in color.
