“Breathing shorthand”, “Drawing from slides”, “Hole in paper” are exercises from Bauhaus classes. We discovered them as marginal notes on drawings, mentioned in passing in letters of thanks from students to their former teachers or in their publications.
On the occasion of the anniversary exhibition original bauhaus, we are publishing a book with 50 exercises from the preliminary course: this famous, influential, beloved and rejected teaching concept, the meaning and practice of which is still discussed today in international art schools.
