The collapsible tubular steel club chair with belt covering was created in 1926/27 and was advertised in the first Breuer tubular steel catalog as "particularly suitable" for ships and sports fields as well as for terraces, summer houses, gardens and garden cafes. This sporty, airy ambience is inscribed in the construction; the D4 still appears light and springy today. Here, the step into modernity is tangible and draws attention to the functional design.
