moving forward. winning design and award winner for the new bauhaus archive / museum for design

To mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in 2019, the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design in Berlin is getting an extension. While the existing building will house an archive, study room/library and rooms for cultural education and events, the new building will accommodate exhibition rooms for the Bauhaus collection and for various special exhibition formats. The construction project is being financed equally by the State of Berlin and the Federal Government. The architectural competition announced by the State of Berlin was decided in October 2015.
The winning design by Staab Architekten and the other award-winning designs from the architectural competition will be presented.
