Designer: Peter Holmblad, 1974

The shape is distinctive, not only in the naming. After the designs by Jacobsen were presented, a long journey began before the Cylinda Line was market-ready in 1967. The design created a unique appearance with only the essentials. The logical construction of all vessels based on cylinders and hemispheres is astonishing. The same basic shapes are used for a wide variety of functions. As already seen with Marianne Brandt, who at the Bauhaus in 1927 developed an entire service series based on the hemisphere. Peter Holmblad later additionally designed the bottle opener and corkscrew for the Cylinda Line series.
