The museum journal of Kulturprojekte Berlin offers an exclusive overview every three months of upcoming exhibitions and projects in the museums of Berlin and Potsdam.

Issue 3/2026: July - August - September 2026.

Currently, Berlin is reflecting on itself in nine very different exhibitions. The focus includes the once legendary newspaper metropolis, the collective plan for reconstruction after 1945, the architect of East Modernism Josef Kaiser, and the art scene since 1989. In an interview, legal philosopher Christoph Möllers comments on the much-discussed freedom of art, complemented by statements from Berlin museum directors and cultural managers* on how to defend this fundamental right.

Solo exhibitions are dedicated to Paul Signac (Barberini), Walter Schels (C/O Berlin), Niina Lehtonen Braun (Schwartzsche Villa), Sofie Dawo (Museum of Decorative Arts), Susan Sontag (Schwules Museum), and Lina Lapelyté (Hamburger Bahnhof). The Kyiv Biennale at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art explores how resilient communities can emerge. What Germans knew about the Holocaust is examined in the current exhibition at the Documentation Center Topography of Terror. In addition to these and many other new exhibitions in cool rooms, the museum gardens are especially inviting in summer. At Branitz Palace and Park, Princess Lucie Pückler is portrayed in a multifaceted way—and an original Fürst-Pückler ice cream awaits visitors.
