Small mortar

Rugged and sturdy: whether it’s a ras el hanout spice blend, ground almonds, or herb pesto, the granite mortars make it easy to grind tough ingredients to the desired consistency.

The heavy weight and rough surface of the working areas make it easier to grind and crush the ingredients. The outside of the vessel and the pestle handle, by contrast, are polished to a greasy sheen: the composition of the exceptionally hard stone, made of feldspar, quartz, and mica, comes to life in the smooth surface.
