the shape is distinctive, and not just in the name. after the designs by Jacobsen were submitted, a long road began before the Cylinda Line was ready for the market in 1967. the design created a unique appearance with only the bare essentials. the logical structure of all vessels on a cylinder and a hemisphere is astonishing. the same basic shapes, used for a wide variety of functions. as with Marianne Brandt, who built an entire service series on the basis of the hemisphere at the Bauhaus as early as 1927. Peter Holmblad subsequently designed a supplementary bottle opener and corkscrew for the Cylinda Line series.
