The shape is defining, not just in the name.
It took until 1967 for the Cylinda-Line to be ready for the market, following Jacobsen’s designs. The logical construction of all the vessels from cylinders and hemispheres recalls Marianne Brandt’s Bauhaus tea and coffee service from 1927. Production proved technically challenging because of the demanding processing of stainless steel and the need to develop new machines and welding techniques.
