David Chipperfield
Born in London in 1953. In 1984, the architect founded David Chipperfield Architects, which has won numerous national and international competitions, including the competition for the River and Rowing Museum. In 2006, he was appointed a Royal Designer for Industry. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture and the Pritzker Architecture Prize. He has taught and lectured around the world. He is currently an honorary professor at the University of the Arts in London. His design approach is based on an appreciation of materials and the purity of form.
