Just as grotesque typefaces have no serifs, Vignelli's rings need no decorative gemstone. Their shape alone, the pure sterling silver, and their object-like character make the rings expressive pieces of jewelry. Lella and Massimo Vignelli set out to enhance our visual environment through an interdisciplinary approach. Their designs in architecture, graphic design, jewelry, and furniture often have a graphic character.

The duo became famous above all for their work from the 1960s, including their signage system for the New York City subway.
