'16 Animals' is a unique puzzle designed by the Italian designer Enzo Mari in 1957. 16 animal shapes, cut from a solid piece of oak wood.
Enzo Mari is one of the masters of Italian design. Novara 1932 – Milan 2020. He lived his entire life in Milan, where he originally moved to train as an artist. His work ranges from design to painting and graphics to installation design. He was both a university lecturer and a political activist. His distinctive style with minimalist forms and consistent use of materials is considered fundamental to the history of Italian design and the development of its role on the world stage. Mari collaborated with Danese Milano during a strong growth phase of the company, which allowed him to experiment with techniques and create installations, sculptures, and products that became milestones in the history of Italian design.
