Hair accessories reinterpreted - the Berlin design studio CLINQ has taken on an age-old subject.
Inspired by origami, fabric patterns, and construction techniques, the clips are folded from a single piece and require no rivets or screws. Thanks to the elasticity of the spring steel, they can be opened with light pressure; pressing again reverses the deformation of the material and closes the clip.
Using custom-made tools, the jewelry pieces are handcrafted in Berlin. The surface is polished to a high gloss using polishing pastes and powders. The gold-plated versions are first coated with 24-karat gold at a thickness of 2 μm.
The minimalist, geometric shapes are both understated and eye-catching. They not only hold and accentuate hairstyles, but also look stylish when used as a money clip or brooch.
