Designer: Herbert Bayer, 1924

In 1924, Herbert Bayer designed seven innovative advertising structures, including the newspaper kiosk and the cigarette kiosk, which are now preserved in the Bauhaus Archive Berlin. These visionary designs represent pioneering advertising techniques: large-scale color compositions, graphic symbols, and luminous advertisements towered over comparatively small kiosks. Bayer also experimented with film projections, illuminated lettering, sound installations, and even letter smoke. The designs are primarily graphic visions, whose practical implementation was unrealistic at the time. In addition to the newspaper kiosk, the cigarette kiosk is also available as a poster.
