The 1959 cutlery set is designed to be produced cost-effectively and with minimal material from standardized stainless steel sheet - the “monobloc.”
The revolutionary manufacturing process is particularly noteworthy in the case of the knife, since the handle and blade previously consisted of two separate pieces. Today, the knife is once again made up of two elements: a handle made of stainless steel and a blade made of hardened steel. This makes it dishwasher-safe, and its sharp blade meets modern standards. Its flat, clean-lined design is now a classic of table culture.
