In 1924, Wilhelm Wagenfeld designed this tea caddy in the metal workshop of the Bauhaus. Originally made of nickel silver, it is now made of nickel-plated brass. The basic shape is a cylinder. The arched raised wall and the rounded lid handle are the only eye-catchers. The absence of ornamentation and shapes that owe their existence solely to their function give the caddy its timeless appearance and put the material and proportion of the body at the centre. (OEM)
