Moving Forward | Winning Design and Award Winner for the New Building House Archive

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in 2019, the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design in Berlin will receive an extension. While the existing building will house the archive, study room/library, as well as rooms for cultural education and events, the new building will accommodate exhibition spaces for the Bauhaus collection and various special exhibition formats. The construction project is financed equally by the State of Berlin and the federal government. The architectural competition announced by the State of Berlin was decided in October 2015.
The winning design by Staab Architekten and the other prize-winning designs of the architectural competition will be presented.
